School
Policy Dress Code - Students must wear leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. Hair must be tied back. Conduct - Only ballet shoes may be worn on the dance floor. Please leave street shoes in the boxes provided in the waiting area. Please do not wear your ballet shoes outside, as they will pick up grit and dirt. No horseplay is allowed anywhere in the studio. Use of
Images - We will post performance
photos on this website, and may also use photos taken during classes or
performances to illustrate this website. Names, ages, and other
identifying information will NOT be posted with the photos. Anyone
objecting to the use of any particular photo on this website should contact
us. Dance Floor
- Safety is the number one issue with dancers when it comes to flooring. If a floor is not absorbent, the body becomes the shock absorber, resulting in fatigue, pain and injury. All movement generates energy and dance is certainly no exception. Energy that is returned directly to the body is dangerous. Shin splints, fatigue, knee and back problems, strains and even broken foot bones can result. Students should never train, rehearse or perform on a non-energy absorbent floor, such as concrete. Any substance laid directly on concrete does not remove you from the concrete unless air is involved. The floor surfacing is a calendared vinyl consisting of a complex ‘sandwich' providing a slip resistant surface. This covering is used on the finest dance floors world wide. One-Way Mirrors - We have installed one-way mirrors to allow observation of classes with a minimum of distraction. Changing Room - In addition to the restroom, a changing room is available in the back of the studio. |
